Thumbelina Video
In the summer of 2006, Guinness World Records certified Thumbelina as the
world’s smallest living horse. In fact, at 17 ½ inches tall,
she is the smallest horse on record.
Thumbelina and Flora
Thumbelina was born on May 1st, 2001 on Goose Creek Farms in St. Louis,
MO. At just 8 ½ pounds and 10 inches tall, her birth was quite a shock for
everyone. Because both parents were standard miniature horses, no one
expected Thumbelina to be a dwarf mini, or mini mini as we like to say.
To our delight, she proved to be a real fighter and eventually overcame
her early challenges. Today, Thumbelina is perfectly healthy and fits
right in with the rest of the herd. Somehow she has even become the
boss of all the other animals on the farm, dogs included.
As a youngster, Thumbelina declared the barn doghouse as her new home.
To the dogs’ dismay, she has been sleeping in their house ever since. Although
she is smaller than most newborn miniatures, Thumbelina seems to have no idea
that she is so tiny. She apparently believes that she’s the world’s largest horse.
For this reason, Thumbelina is an endless source of amusement on the farm.
Erin and Thumbelina
From the day she was born, Thumbelina has brought tremendous joy to
everyone around her. She is constantly surrounded by children
and for many, especially the sick or needy, meeting Thumbelina is the
happiest moment of their lives. She gives so much and only wants to be
petted in return. Her persistent and selfless giving was the inspiration for
theThumbelina Charitable Foundation and The Thumbelina Children’s Tour.
Ashley and Thumbelina
Since her certification as the World’s Smallest Horse, interest in Thumbelina
has exploded around the world. Today she has tens of millions of adoring fans
in over 150 countries and millions more discover her each week.
Thumbelina has become a great inspiration and a source of comfort
for children everywhere.
Having overcome her challenges, Thumbelina reminds us all that everyone
has a purpose and that even the least among us can accomplish great things.
Grand Canyon
The year 2007 was extraordinary for Thumbelina. For nearly seven months,
Thumbelina traveled across America in the Thumby-mobile to visit sick,
needy, troubled, disabled and abused children. She made hundreds of stops
in all 48 continental states to bring hope and comfort to countless children
in need of some joy in their lives. It was an amazing experience that we
shall never forget.
We will forever cherish the friendships forged during this incredible adventure.
From town to town, we were welcomed with overwhelming generosity. Everyday
strangers would offer us a meal, open up their home, or assist when we were
stranded.Ours is truly a great nation and we extend our heart-felt thanks
to all of our new friends. The tour would not have been possible without you!
Graceland
The 2007 tour focused primarily on children at hospitals, shelters and special
schools and camps. Goose Creek Farms is pleased to announce that the
children’s tour will continue in 2008 and beyond.

Furthermore, the tour will be adding more therapeutic riding centers and
military bases to the schedule in 2008. Thumbelina looks forward to all of the
new friends
she will meet in the years to come.
Children are not only our future; they are Thumbelina’s biggest fans.
Kids everywhere see Thumbelina as a friend;
Mt. Rushmore
someone to turn to when they are hurting or feeling sad. At Goose Creek Farms,
we believe that friends should look out for one another. So Thumbelina is doing
just that. Each year, she heads out in the Thumby-mobile to visit sick,
needy, troubled, disabled and abused children. To date, she has made hundreds
of stops in all 48 lower states to visit tens of thousands of suffering children.
Thumbelina is there for them whenever they need happy thoughts.
She lives in their hearts and brings them hope and joy even in their most
difficult times.
Furthermore, Thumbelina is devoted to raise money and awareness for many
wonderful children’s charities. We salute these organizations and all who
volunteer their time to help children in need. In fact, this foundation was
originally established to channel the world’s affection for Thumbelina toward
worthy charities and the missions for which they strive. Standing at just 17.5
inches tall, it is amazing to witness such a tiny, loving creature accomplish such
great works. Thumbelina is a blessing that we are thrilled to share with the world.
We hope that she will raise millions of dollars for sick and needy children in the
years to come.
We thank you for your support and good thoughts.
Sincerely,
Kay Goessling

St. Louis, MO – The famous Clydesdales will have to move over to make
(just a little) room for another horse, soon to be world famous. At 17.5 inches
(44.5 cm) tall, tiny Thumbelina commands a lot of attention, now that she is officially
recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records™ as the World’s Smallest Horse.
The stout dwarf chestnut mare, weighing 58 pounds, was foaled May 1, 2001
at Goose Creek Farms miniature horse ranch in St. Louis, Missouri.
Standing eye-to-eye with the farm’s cocker spaniels, Thumbelina ambles
under pasture fences, roaming the ranch and occasionally checking in to nap in her
dog house, set among the stalls that quarter some of Goose Creek Farm’s 47 miniature horses.
A Guinness Book™ delegation flew in from their London headquarters in September
to witness the little wonder firsthand; Goose Creek Farms now proudly displays the
certificate confirming Thumbelina as the smallest horse in the world.
A rarity among miniature horses, Thumbelina has conquered her life-threatening
birth defect and will soon be bringing joy to children around the world while drawing
attention to various worthwhile children’s causes.
Thumbelina Charitable Trust has proudly been established to raise awareness
and much needed funds for numerous children’s charities. Additional information
